  8. Maurie, what an incredible 24 years we have had together. On our first date you arrived to pick me up with a big bunch of flowers. The flowers kept coming and then you built garden beds for me to always have flowers. I will miss you terribly. I miss your hugs and the way you made me laugh. I miss how at the end of the day we could talk about the good things, and also if we had stuffed up, how we could try and fix it. I loved it when we danced in the kitchen. And when suddenly we would throw everything in the car and just go somewhere. Planning our trip to Tassie, you asked where will we stay – in motels or cabins, and I said I would rather stay in the back of the ute. You said ok and made it happen. When our boy George arrived we still went to Bathurst – dont worry George will be okay we love him, he’ll be my little mate now. I love how you supported my get rich quick schemes. When my celebrant work started you were there to help me, even in the pouring rain at Squeaky Beach at Wilsons Prom. I loved my little yellow laser – you liked me in a bigger car and I learned to love your beautiful LTD and when I got in the black ice and put it over a bank you only cared that I was okay. I’ll still be talking with you every day and listening out for your suggestions Maurie. Thank you darling for all those amazing times we had together. Enjoy whatever you’re up to now, and till I catch up with you one day, have fun, Lots of love from your Dot xo
